Gerhard Renner


Gerhard Renner is an interim CFO specializing in raising capital and providing investment banking services to middle market companies. In addition to his Ventor association, he is Partner and Managing Director of Scale Finance, which provides fractional CFO and controller services to companies in the Southeastern United States.


Gerhard’s core strengths are corporate finance, strategic plan development, M&A and venture capital. Gerhard provides leadership and assistance on all client mandates and heads up the transactional team.


He has been in the capital markets since 1996, managing and financing growth companies as a principal advisor to Los Angeles based Core Capital Corporation, a private investment management company dedicated to financing early stage investments. In that capacity, he founded Genetic Biotechnology Ventures, a financing vehicle commercializing biotech innovations; and later, Academic Synergies Company, a state of the art analytical testing laboratory for the University of Southern California’s School of Pharmacy.

In 2000, Gerhard co-founded Airborne 1 Corporation and served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer until 2006. Airborne 1 is an aviation centric airborne laser mapping company, at the forefront of the digital mapping revolution whose largest customer was Google Earth. The company was named among the five hundred fastest growing privately held US companies in 2003 and 2004 by Inc. Magazine, before being sold in 2009 to Geodigital (GDI) Inc.

He holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, (Economics and Rhetoric), and a JD/MBA from the University of Southern California.

He has licenses for the Series 7 and Series 63.
